Cheri’s Mom’s Sour Cream Raisin Pie

3 egg yolks

1 cup (8 ounces) sour cream

1/2 cup sugar (brown sugar is best, but white is okay)

1 lb. boneless steak (bottom round), cut into 1 inch pieces
4 medium beets, peeled and diced –OR—1 16-oz can diced beets, drained
2 medium tomatoes, chopped
2 medium potatoes, peeled and diced
2 medium carrots, shredded
½ medium head of cabbage, shredded (about 3 cups)
1 medium yellow onion, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
